  • Varvstaden Conservatory of Music – Lund University, Principal Acoustician
    Feasibility study to relocate the departments of Music, Arts and Theatre from the Lund University to a new 16,000m2 facility within the old ship building yard building. 2020 – 2021
  • Arboren Performing Arts Academy, Principal Acoustician for Main Hall
    Acoustic design of 300 seat theatre with electroacoustic system and rehearsal & practice rooms. 2020 – 2021
  • Shenzhen International Performance Centre, Principal Acoustician for Competition
    Acoustic design of 2,000 seat grand theatre, 1,000 seat concert hall in 35,000m2 facilities in the heart of Shenzhen city. With Coldefy & Associés in 2020 – 2021
  • Bratislava Congress and Concert Hall, Principal Acoustician for Competition
    Acoustic concept design for a 3,000-seat congress centre in the capital city of Bratislava. The main hall can be divided into 4 different smaller venues for parallel conference sessions or to welcome the yearly Bratislava Jazz festival. With Compass Architekti with Ian Ritchie Architects in 2020 – 2021
  • Bolton IKON Performing Arts Centre, Principal Acoustician
    Acoustic design for a 400 seat concert hall, 200 seat contemporary venue and music school in Bolton, UK. With Ian Ritchie Architects and StageRight in 2020 – 2021
  • Örnsköldsvik Performing Arts Centre, Principal Acoustician
    Room acoustic design of 800 seat hall for orchestral concerts and drama performances, including an orchestra shell and short flytower. With architect TM Konsult in 2019 – 2021
  • MTG TV Studio, Principal Acoustician
    Redesign of 200m2 studio fit-out and its Control Room for live broadcast. Scope includes sound insulation, room acoustics, HVAC noise Control in 2019 – 2020
  • Catena Arena Redevelopment, Principal Acoustician
    Upgrade of the Catena Arena to increase the capacity of 5,000 seats. Acoustic modelling and calibration of model based on measurements in the pre-project arena were conducted in 2020 – 2021
  • Vilnius Tautos Namaï National Concert Hall, Principal Acoustician for Competition
    Acoustic design for the 1,700 seat new Concert hall and 500-seat multifunction Concert hall. With Coldefy & Associates in 2019.

  • Gstaad Concert Hall, Switzerland, Principal Acoustician
    Principal acoustician for 1,200-seat concert hall for the Menuhin Festival. Scope included room acoustics, sound insulation, noise & vibration control. Involvement from concept to commissioning. With Rudi Ricciotti Architectes and Philippe Warrand in 2013 – 2019
  • Ba’oan Grand Theatre, Principal Acoustician
    Acoustic design for a 1600-seat opera house and 600-seat multipurpose auditorium. Construction completion is expected in 2021. With Rocco Design and Kunkel Theatre Consultants in 2013 – 2019
  • HKUST-SHAW Multipurpose Auditorium, Hong Kong, Principal Acoustician
    Principal acoustician for a 1,000 seat concert hall. Scope included room acoustics, sound insulation, noise & vibration control. Construction completion is expected in 2021-2022. With Henning Larsen Architects and TheatrePlan in 2015 – 2019.

  • West Kowloon Cultural District – Lyric Theatre Centre, Hong Kong, Principal Acoustician
    Principal acoustician for a 1,750 seat lyric theatre, 600 seat drama theatre, 250 seat experimental studio, 100 seat dance studio in WKCD. With UNStudio, AD+RG and TheSpaceFactory in 2014 – 2019

    Principal acoustician for 1,700 seat grand cinema Theatre with IMAX and DOLBY accreditation. Scope included room acoustics, sound insulation, noise & vibration control. With Fuksas, Ducks and IPPR in 2013 – 2017

Some of my project where I act as client’s acoustician, defined the brief for the project, acted as peer review or simply advised during feasibility studies
(2019 – 2021):

  • Varvstaden Arts Campus, Malmö/Lund, Sweden
    New campus for the Lund University hosting the departments of Music, Theatre, Dance and the Inter-Arts Centre over a surface area of 16,000m2 in an old naval workshop building in Västra hamnen. The project includes 5 blackboxes, a 400-seat concert hall and a wide range of practice rooms for classical music, amplified music, drama, voice, movement, visual arts and any combination of the above.
  • Netport Science Park Concert Hall, Stockholm, Sweden
    400-seat concert hall being designed by a construction company and requiring detailed review of the design, predictions and documentation. My role grew to establishing scope of work for the project acoustician, correcting design and project management strategies in order to ensure certainty in the outcome on behalf of the end-users.
  • Karlskronas Culture House, Sweden
    Peer review for 300-seat blackbox theatre design.
  • All performing arts centres in China and Hong Kong SAR
    For all these projects, the acoustician is hired directly by the client and acts on its behalf, defining the acoustic brief to meet the client’s expectations and follows the projects to ensure the design will meet these.
